As Yo! Majesty, LaShunda Flowers (aka Shunda K) and partner Jewel Baynham (aka Jwl B) mix Miami bass, electro nuances and low-fi drum techniques with raucous rap vocals. The result is self-actualized, party-inspired rap coupled with the duo's strong faith, sexuality and raw delivery. The genre-busting, lesbian Christian rap group uses non-traditional techniques to achieve their intense sound, like recording from a friend's closet via an old Commodore Amiga computer and laying down vocals with a mic taped to a lampshade.
