Label: Southern Lord
These Dallas tough guys seem intent on recreating the late '80s moment when speed metal first turned super-violent (think Slayer, Carnivore, Kreator, Prong) and moshed headfirst into bully-boy hardcore (Cro-Mags, Nuclear Assault, D.R.I., Discharge). Sometimes they inch toward early death and even industrial metal -- briefly sampling dystopian movies, starting and finishing with electronics. But mostly, echoing deep below an underproduced ocean of band brawling, Riley Gale roars and slobbers and grunts like he wants to tear your head off. And they save their longest, meanest track for last.
