After a lengthy incarceration, UGK's Pimp C returned in 2006 with an album that shows off his rolodex. Nearly everyone who's had a layover in Houston shows up. One might think 28 guest appearances would throw off the album's cohesion and pacing, but Pimp C has always been as renowned for his behind-the-board work as his microphone prowess, and Pimpalation is held together by the rapper's down south, dizzying blues. "I'm Free" finds Pimp celebrating his release over Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'," while "Pourin' Up" reunites him with UGK's Bun B.
