Evacuate The Dancefloor
Label: All Around The World
With Lady Gaga ruling the charts and the airwaves, Cascada's perky, sentimental brand of dance-pop sounds poised for crossover like never before. Throbbing with Hi-NRG beats, they never really evacuate the dancefloor, of course; their peppy Euro-dance anthems remain indebted to trance music's headlong stomp. But cuts like "Breathless" and "Fever" draw on pop, rock and R&B while digging their stilettos into Top 40 terrain, while the acoustic-tinged "Hold Your Hands Up" is a ballad with a Grey's Anatomy closing sequence written all over it.
