Brandi Carlile's expressive voice lilts to and fro before edging into a cavernous howl, sounding at times like a female Jeff Buckley. But Carlile's voice also glistens with an odd, country sheen, and she manages to fit all these nuances in a neat puzzle; rather than disjointed, her songs sound supernatural. "Follow," a haunting ballad that borders on shoe-gazer, is the most beguiling song in her set.
